In October 2009 God began a new work in the Garland area.  It was at this time that two families, The Rollins and the Lee families came together on Wednesday and Saturdays for bible study to dig into God’s word to see what God was saying to them and through them.  As they dug deeper into the Word of God, it became clear that God had a special plan for them to organize a ministry.  

The first worship service was scheduled for October 13, 2009 at Audubon Recreation Center in Garland, Texas.  On that cold crisp fall Sunday, unannounced to the worshipers, the worker for the recreation center failed to show up to open the center.  As a result, the worshipers had their first worship service outside in the cold air.  Although it was cold outside, the warm spirit of God moved and the church was officially started with approximately 75 people in attendance.  They celebrated as several people accepted Christ as their personal savior.  The Moore family was the first family and the Vandykes was the second family to officially join the church with the exception of Pastor Lee and his family.

The began to worship in the home of Pastor Lee.  It was not long before all of the space in the living room and the stair well was full with worshipers.  It was decided to move to a store-front location on Rosehill Drive in Garland, Texas that seated approximately 54 people but could be expanded to 75 people at it’s maximum.  This move took place on Valentines day, February 14, 2010.

It was not long before the church outgrew this location.  People were everywhere!  The church needed another location that would accommodate the growth of the ministry.  Following the expiration of the property lease on Rosehill Drive, it was decided to relocate the worship experience to The Audubon Recreation Center, which was the location of the first official service of the church.  

In January 2012 the church relocated it’s worship location to Audubon Recreation Center in Garland, the church continues to proper and ministries are growing in great numbers. Ministries formed at the church include the Audio / Visual Ministry, Choir, Finance Ministry, Greeting / Usher’s Ministry, Hospitality, Marriage Ministry, Praise Team, Singles Ministry, Welcoming Ministry, Women’s Ministry and the Youth Ministry.


The vision for The Chosen Church is to be a body of believers in the South Garland area that will offer resources to relate love, hope, education, inspiration and salvation to the community.  For by this, they will know that we are Christ’s disciples.


We eagerly stand and watch to see what God is doing in the life of the ministry.  To God be the Glory.
